Biography

Colonel Adama Coulibaly, of Ivorian nationality, is a man of many specialties. Seasoned sociologist and emeritus technocrat to the ECOWAS service, Colonel Coulibaly has potential peerless forcing respect and admiration. Current Director General of the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money in West Africa Laundering (GIABA), it holds several diplomas in higher education in Africa and Europe. Passed to the National School of Administration of Côte d'Ivoire, the School of French Customs -On Neuilly-Seine, and the African Centre of Management among others, Adama Coulibaly, through its journey, was able to build a reputation in the Ivorian administration. A distinction that allowed him also to obtain the trust of President Henri Konan Bédié and being named in 1996 to the post of Director General of Customs of Côte d'Ivoire. brilliant man and very noticed in his field, his professional qualities have earned him a member of several Boards of Directors of state companies which the Ivorian Refining Company (SIR), PETROCI, the Autonomous Port of Abidjan etc. Regionally, he has contributed to the implementation of several projects including CEAO Tariff Rate Transition to the UEMOA, the Development of the Common External Tariff (CET) ECOWAS and the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs). From 2005 to 2011, Colonel Adama Coulibaly has served as General Manager of the National Federation of Industries and Services Ivory Coast (FNISCI) with main mission, strengthening the dialogue between the private sector and the Administration. Colonel Adama Coulibaly was successively Chairman of the Technical Commission of the 18th, 19th and 20th Plenary Meetings of GIABA. His appointment as Director General of GIABA, is the culmination of a long and rich academic and professional background. His long career is punctuated by major awards including the Golden Palm of the work of Ivorian Customs Administration or the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of Côte d'Ivoire (April 2010). In October 2012, the International Organization CRANS MONTANA FORUM awarded him the Gold Medal for his actions in favor of the advent of a more humane and equitable through the fight against money laundering and financing of terrorism.
