National Organization for the Coordination of holiday activities ( ONCAV )

Presentation

Under the Cultural Charter , the Charter of the sport, of the Charter that governs the Olympic movement and in accordance with Decree No. 76 - OO4O 18 / O1 / 1976 and the Decree 76-193 of 17 / O2 / 76 it is created in Senegal a national coordinating body for holiday activities. Its duration is unlimited . Its headquarters are in Dakar. It may be transferred to any other place housing the headquarters of a ORCAV decision of the Steering Committee which shall submit to the sanction of the next General Assembly.

Missions

 The ONCAV aims:

1- coordinate all activities of the organization on the national territory;

2- to play sports and culture effective instruments for the unity of the youth of our country, to put them at the service of friendship and solidarity between peoples;

3- organize and develop cultural and socio-educational activities;

4 - to promote the development of socio-economic activities;

5 - to participate actively in the public health effort;

6 - to work towards the preservation of the environment and protection of nature;

7 - to safeguard and develop the Olympic ideal following the basic principles defined by the Olympic Charter;

8 - to represent the sports and cultural associations (ASC) ONCAV affiliated with any other organization and in all acts of civil life;

9 - to maintain relations of frank cooperation with other organizations with the same goals;

10 - organize profit-making events;

11 - maintain relationships with government while keeping its autonomy.
