Presentation
The African Institute for Democracy ( IAD) was created in 1994 on the initiative of the UN Development Programme. It is a regional institute established to address the democratic problems on the continent.
Missions
The mandate of the IAD is :
• To support the democratic processes on the continent by , among other things , assistance to governments and members of parliament;
• Participate in the dissemination of information and education on justice and human rights in Africa ;
• Promote research and documentation on tos aspects of democratization in Africa.
