Biography

Senegalese woman policy, Gaye Seynabou Toure is now a manager of the Alliance for the Republic of the religious city of Tivaouane. She holds the position of President of the new County Council, created in 2014 with Act 3 of Decentralization. She became one of the few women presidents of County Council in a vast majority of men. Seynabou Gaye Toure had, however, to fight hard to get back to business in the regime of Macky Sall. Former Minister of Senegalese Abroad, Ms. Touré's left the government a few months later during a cabinet reshuffle. A Tivaouane, she faced competition from his fellow party Ndéné Abdou Sall, for the control of the County Council. She came out victorious thanks to the support of the Secretary General Apr Macky Sall who chose him as a candidate for Tivaouane, the second largest department in Senegal. Mrs. Touré is also on the initiative of Network Support initiatives of women's Kayor (Raifca).
